So we decided to fly to see Mickey this time. We weren't looking forward to the drive and Lincoln is fascinated by airplanes... 75,000 miles less in my Skymiles account and we had three tickets. That was a few weeks ago. We've been talking to Lincoln about it since then. And I think he has told everyone else about it too.
Fast forward to yesterday... the big day... we were heading to WDW. He spent most of the day telling us he was so excited. He was really good going through security. He was really good waiting... Asked if every plane he saw was ours but that's OK. He was really good boarding and he was really good during take off. Five minutes after that he was bored and wanted to go home so we could drive. Not good. We survived the quick flight with a few toys and a bag of fruit snacks. No drinks from Delta... Too bumpy according to the pilot (He should have been our next flight if he wanted to feel bumpy!).
Got to Atlanta, made our way down the long stairs (escalator), on to the train and had our first meltdown. Lincoln was scared of the dark tunnel. Off the train, up the long stairs, grab some dinner, and on to the next plane. Take off was good and then it was downhill from there. All the miles I've flown around the world and I have NEVER had a flight that bad. So much for him loving to fly like me. Lincoln lost it a couple of times. He was scared and trapped in a seat belt. Mommy hugs while being buckled in don't seem to do the trick all that well. Mom said according to the online flight tracker we cruised all the way fairly low. We could feel the pilot taking us up and down trying to avoid the rough weather but it was bad for a solid hour at least.
Anyway, we landed safely, got our bags and hopped on Magical Express. We could have let Disney bring our bags but it was late and we needed them.
We got to Caribbean Beach, they drove us and our stuff to our building, we got a really good room, discovered we had forgotten a number of things and finally got Lincoln to bed (it was after 10 I think).
Stay tuned...
