After we finished up with tea, Mom, Dad and I rode the monorail back around to the Magic Kingdom for the nighttime festivities. When we entered the park, Michael and Lincoln were still driving around the speedway. We stopped to watch the last of the daytime party parades (the official name escapes me). Luckily, Michael and Lincoln finished their race and were able to see some of the fun too.
At that point, we were on Main Street and they were up near the hub in front of the castle. 6:15 was fast approaching so I grabbed a curb seat for the 7PM parade and they stayed up by the castle to see it light up for the night. If any of you have not seen the castle at night during the holidays over the last couple of years, it is absolutely stunning. Cinderella wishes for the castle to look like her glass slipper and the Fairy Godmother delivers by lighting over 200,000 LED lights on the castle. I’ll include a photo from my iPhone but that doesn’t do it justice.
After the lighting ceremony, Michael and Lincoln joined us on Main Street to wait for SpectroMagic. Lincoln really likes this parade… fun and magic are the two words he uses. After the parade came Wishes. It was rather cloudy and quite windy so some of the upper fireworks got lost but the wind kept the smoke moving quickly. It wasn’t really all that bad and as always, managed to get a lot of smiles and “magic” words from Lincoln. I’m going to try to post a video clip as well… not sure how well that will work.
Stay tuned... we'll be heading to Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios on Tuesday.
